Obscure Horror Movie Trailer--3/10: 'Phantom of the Paradise'

Brian De Palma's 1974 film, 'Phantom of the Paradise' takes the basic storyline of the classic, 'Phantom of the Opera' and modernizes it into the mid '70s psychadelic rock music scene.

Starring Paul Williams and William Finley, this funny, yet emotionally satisfying tale is one of the strangest movies in De Palma's cannon. It's easy to compare this film to 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'-many people do. While it might not have the lasting appeal of 'Rocky Horror', I believe its characters are much more well developed and it doesn't seem to run out of steam, like 'Rocky Horror' does in its second half.
